On one side, surrounding the couple, is the inscription "Ta lan notai i bport an bhanais" which translates as "There are a lot of notes in the wedding tune". This teaches us that there is much to learn of each other if we are to sing in tune and live in harmony.
On the other side is the inscription "Gra Go Deo" which translates as "Love Forever". This has been placed above the Claddagh, the Irish symbol for Love, Loyalty and Friendship.

The coin is beautiful and looks very precious. I bought it as a gift for my husband on occasion of our 5th wedding anniversary on April 14th this year. I thought if the Wedding coin was formerly given by the groom to his bride on their wedding day I could as well give it as wife to husband on our wedding anniversary. I am very much looking forward to seeing his face when I give it to him as a token of our longlasting love and relationship (we have been a couple ever since 1997). Just an hour ago I typed a translation of the written explanation that came with the coin as my husband can't speak or read English. And i August we are going to visit wonderful Ireland again! :-) Thank you so much for the quick delivery and the beautiful piece of art!
